I’ve come across a stack of new publications (new to me at least) of interest that I’m going to start processing. If anyone sees anything particularly interesting that they would like to help with, let me know and I can give you access to add evidence quotes into the database:
- The August 2006 INESAP Bulletin has a section on the dual use challenges of missiles and space technology. Of special interest:
Katz-Hyman, Michael. “Proximity Operations in Outer Space.” INESAP Information Bulletin. (June 2006): 64-67. [ Citation Link ]
- Two new publications from UNDIR:
Detlev Wolter, Common Security in Outer Space and International Law, January 2006
Safeguarding Space Security: Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space—Conference Report, 21–22 March 2005, March 2006
- The latest edition of “High Frontier”, the professional journal from the U.S. Space Command, discusses the relevance of ICBMs for U.S. strategic deterrence and aerospace power.
- New report from the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis, Independent Working Group on Missile Defense, the Space Relationship, and the Twenty-First Century, 2007 Report.
Finally, the Henry L. Stimson Center has posted an audiocast of today’s presentation by Alexei Arbatov and Gen. Vladimir Dvorkin on “Russian Views on Space Security.”
The site is back online now, in more ways than one. It was down this weekend for a planned server migration but the transfer was more arduous than expected. However, the (painfully long) process was helpful in identifying inefficiencies so the site is leaner and more robust than before.
I’m also ‘back online’ after neglecting this project for the past couple of weeks to meet some deadlines at work. I’ve got a backlog of patches and updates that I’m working through now and will post shortly on some new features. Thanks to everyone who wrote with words of encouragement during this downtime, let me know what you think of the next phase.
