China's civil andDespite testing a direct ascent anti-satellite missile, China's military space program willis not pose a significant threat to U.S. space assets infor several reasons: the near-term.U.S. lead in space is too great for China to overcome it with a 'Pearl Harbor' attack, China's military space program is too disorganized to present a significant threat, and China unlikely to risk political and economic damage from an attack on U.S. space assets.

Comments: Its been established that China has an ASAT capacity, the debate now should center on whether or not their current capacity is a threat to US interests and how seriously we should take it.
