Short answer: We don't intend to share your data with any third
parties for any reason. Please use common sense when posting any personal identifying information in
the discussion areas and in your profile.
Information Collected
Spacedebate.org collects two kinds of information from visitors to the
site: traffic data and user-submitted posts. We do not sell or share
any personal information with third parties.
We track user traffic and surfing trends such as which articles,
keywords, or authors or prominent in a given week to provide more
value to users. This information is aggregated and no personally
identifying information is kept. With respect to cookies: We use
cookies to record user-specific information on what pages users access
or visit, alert visitors to new areas that we think might be of
interest to them when they return to our site.
Spacedebate.org also offers users the chance to post comments on
stories or reply to other user comments. Users are requested to fill
in their name and email address but are welcome to use an alias or a
shrouded email address to foil email harvesting tools.
Security
To secure site integrity, we employ measures including but not limited
to security audits, use of encryption tools and software, and other
reasonable security measures and procedures. Internal access to users'
private and nonpublic personal information is restricted to site
administrators and individuals on a need-to-know basis.
Changes
The wording of this privacy policy may change over time (as we tinker
with it and more services are added) but should not change
significantly. Major changes will be announced one week in advance on
the project blog (http://www.spacedebate.org/blog/).
